The Arts Impact

Partnership (TAIP)

A national coalition reimagining how we understand the impact of the arts.

The Arts Impact Partnership (TAIP)

The Arts Impact Partnership (TAIP) is a long-awaited response to a common frustration in the arts: the idea that our impact can only be measured by numbers such as ticket sales, audience size, or jobs created: the arts have powerful civic, cultural, and emotional impacts that can’t always be captured by economic data or quantitative metrics. TAIP is about redefining how we describe and measure those impacts in ways that are meaningful, inclusive, and fair.

By connecting Canada’s arts community with researchers from around the world, we’re co-creating new, community-led ways to understand and share the true value of the arts. Especially from the perspectives of artists and communities who have too often been overlooked by traditional data systems.

TAIP is a research project based at Toronto Metropolitan University and led in partnership with Mass Culture. Together, we are building a national network of 70+ researchers, 25+ Canadian partner organizations, and several international collaborators.
